Much of the time this can be seen by the naked eye in decent light grey areas in the grooves dull finish actual etch marks at specific points in the record etc but once in a while you ll simply be caught by groove damage that can t be seen.

So i ve been using the project debut 3 and marantz pm5004 amp and i have a huge problem with surface noise.

I don t think grounding is the issue as the noise is mostly crackles pops hisses and a constant hissy sound only audible when the record is playing and not audible through anything digital.
Another significant source is the process of removing a vinyl record from its plastic inner sleeve.
In many circumstances you should be able to fix this one yourself by wet cleaning the vinyl either by hand or using a record cleaning machine.
